Check out my debut picture book!
Yasi and Mina's Pomegranate Tree is a children's picture book about two best friends in Tehran whose friendship is tested by the Iran-Iraq War, forcing one to emigrate to the United States. The story, set during the 1980s conflict, tenderly explores themes of friendship, loss, and memory as the girls cope with the disruption of war and separation, with Mina giving Yasi a special gift to remember their home and bond.
Published by Sleeping Bear Press as part of its "Own Voices, Own Stories" collection, the book aims to give a voice to the experiences of children uprooted by conflict.
